I am not sure if I have said this before but I am becoming a travel blogger, so please bear with me as I am a beginner at blogging the adventures I will be partaking. I am still deciding if I want this blog (Adventurous Daydreamer) to be just about my travels or site where I will write about whatever is my heart’s content but I will work that out in due time. So… the first adventure I have the pleasure of sharing is Jacksonville, Florida, where I just traveled to for a wedding this recent Memorial Day weekend!
I was blessed to be able to stay with the bride’s family who rented a beach house in the Ponte Vedra Beach area. Taken by the beautiful blue waves and creamy warm sand, I was instantly reminded that this was just the vacation I needed! The first day, my friend and I arrived to the house at 4am in the morning. So I did not get much sleep because of the excitement about being able to finally take a vacay. I barely slept and woke up at my body’s work schedule; nevertheless, I was bright eyed and outside at 8am trying to soak in as much from the beauty environment as I could. Here are some photos of the back yard where I stayed:

Ponte Vedra was unique in its own way than other beaches I had visited. Now granted, I am still wet behind the ears in regards to travel, however, based upon my visits to several other beaches along the east coast and one on the west, I thought Ponte Vedra was clean, peaceful and not overly populated, and the local people were nice. The area felt more like a secluded beach front than a commercial for Florida tourism and I think that is what added to the captivation of the area. Not to forget to mention there weren’t any board walks with games and souvenir shops but that was okay by me, especially since the house was so close in walking distance to the beach. I would encourage anyone planning to stay a full day on the sand to bring their chairs, a cooler filled with refreshments, and big umbrella so that the midday sun doesn’t dry you out. Also don’t forget your sun screen!

This place was great! The food was good and the staff was really down-to-earth and nice.
I didn’t get chance to check these places out but did notice them on my way back home. They looked pretty cool while cruising by and can be an option for families or those who want to break from the beach.
